An Eye-Fi card without Magic Lantern cannot be used as a backup card (this is not documented as far as I know). An Eye-Fi card cannot be used with Magic Lantern (this is documented).Important information for Eye-Fi card users: Always have an SD card w/o Magic Lantern installed at hand as a backup plan.Read the Magic Lantern forums to find out of potential problems other users are experiencing.Let the more adventurous users (I'm one of them) try the new releases first. Don't be an early adopter, wait a bit before you jump on to the new release. At the time I'm writing this the stable release is 2.3. Read all the instructions and understand the entire process before you actually do it. Follow the installation instructions to the T.If you want to minimize the risks I recommend the following: The recent 2.3 release has been extremely stable in my experience. I haven't experienced any crashes that didn't clear when removing the battery. Note that the software does crash from time to time, and sometimes it is necessary to remove the battery to reset the camera. My experience with Magic Lantern on my 60D has been very good, I think the benefits far outweigh the disadvantages and risks. So you always have the choice to run Magic Lantern or not if you keep track of which of your SD cards have Magic Lantern installed and which do not. This is important to know, because if you replace the Magic Lantern SD card with a regular SD card (one that does not have Magic Lantern installed) or no SD card at all, the camera will not find any code to load, so it will just load the stock firmware, and there will be absolutely no trace of Magic Lantern. The bootdisk feature is what enables the camera to load Magic Lantern at boot time. Magic Lantern enables the bootdisk flag in your camera and then installs to the SD card. This flag tells the camera if it should try to load and execute software stored in the SD card. My understanding is that the only change that is done to your camera is to enable the "bootdisk" flag, which is a very minor change. I think something not everybody understands is the Magic Lantern does not install into your camera but to the SD card. The chances of bricking your camera are extremely low (but not zero).

If your main objective in tracking attendance is to know who actually showed up, QR codes allow you to gather data on who attended (without directly requiring your attention during the event) and guide your attendees to any important information they may need. This allows you to focus on the bigger picture when hosting a paid event, for example. The answer to this is simple: It automates an important aspect of your job and leaves it up to your attendees to mark themselves present instead of requiring you to actively check them in. Why should you use QR codes for sign-in sheets? And, as QR codes become increasingly popular, more and more of your attendees will likely know exactly what to do when presented with a QR code and simple instructions. The objective with QR code sign-in sheets is to use that same technology to allow attendees to sign in on their own. That’s why you’ve likely seen restaurants use QR codes for customers to easily scan and access links to their menus. Unlike barcodes, though, QR codes can encode data both left to right and up and down, meaning they can hold much more information than your standard barcode. QR codes pack digital data into an image that can be scanned and read by a suitable device (usually a smartphone). The actual science behind QR codes is fairly complex, but they essentially function like powerful barcodes. As the person keeping attendance, just imagine how much time and effort you can free up to focus on more important event responsibilities if you use this method. If you can take a picture with your smartphone, you can scan a QR code to sign in. Introducing technology like QR codes into something as simple as attendance tracking may seem unnecessary, but the truth is, QR code sign-in sheets might be the easiest way for even the most tech-challenged attendees to mark themselves present. That’s the promise behind QR code sign-in sheets, and it doesn’t take much work to set one up. But what if you could track attendance automatically by allowing attendees to easily sign themselves in instead? If you’ve ever thought about how you were going to keep attendance for an event, class, or employee workshop, you’ve likely realized that it can be complicated. Generate a unique QR code for your form.Include the right fields to collect attendance data.Pick one of Jotform’s sign-in sheet templates. 4 steps to create a QR code sign-in sheet This might upset some Windows 10 (Edit Aug 21st, 4pm EDT: I meant Windows 7… Windows 10 users will only be upset at creepers and endermen) users, but it will be especially annoying to those who game on Linux, which would otherwise be able to see the light.
